Hi all,
Thinking of buying a set of ramps (drive the front or rear wheels up onto type) I am hoping they might be a bit more secure than axle stands when I don't need to take the wheels off. I am not into major mechanics of removing gearboxes etc just want to get under the Terrano for more preventative type work.
Just wondering if anyone has thoughts or recommendations on any. Not after spending a fortune but not wanting to skimp on safety either.

Many thanks.

Elty has some awesome one, they are HGV ones, I also have a set.

When buying, just check what the load rating is of them, the T2 is almost 2 tonne isn't it?

Cheers Banshee

Never thought about trucks using them :doh my world of ramps just got a whole lot wider !!
Some of the ones I had looked at previously seemed a little narrow.

My hgv ones fell off the back of a lorry:lol:lol
They stand almost a foot tall and are a foot wide rated at 10 tons:thumb2

A mate has a spare set of strong / high ramps up in Cumbria. Will collect them next time I am up there.

Cheers folks.:thumb2

My std ramps are a bit narrow. But are rated at 2ton and terrano is 1.8. Damned things hit the valance of my Passat too so they ate not ideal for either!

The width was indeed something I was a little wary of as I do not have anyone to guide. Sure it would have been fine but for the amount of use they will get would rather buy once and buy right.

Yeah I can't get my Cavalier up on mine either, it's soooooo low as standard

One thing I did come across when looking into ramps is that you can buy ramp extensions to reduce the drive on angle. Amazon / ebay seemed to have a few different types.
