radio wont work

After my old alternator had a hissy fit and pumped 16.4 volts through everything the radio and interior lights stopped working, fixed lights but radio still won't work, I've got voltage at the radio but its dead as a dead thing took it out and tested it with a multi meter and it seems ok, also doesnt smell fried, idea's anyone?

Probably going to take it to a mate who knows about these things....when he comes back from Canada :doh

most have external fuses, failing that, there could be a fuse inside, or sometimes a diode inside which can blow, as it is there to prevent reverse polarity.

Possible, all the external fuses are ok
