The wifes 99-plater has the easy-to-remove centre dash panel, i.e. two screws and it unclips to leave the radio easily accessible. However, my 02-plater has that god-awful plastic wood surround that seems to go right down to the bottom of the centre console somewhere, with no visible means of fitment.

I want to remove the radio - the original Nissan CD player - to fit an MP3-compatible unit, preferably one with an AUX input socket or cable....but how the hell do you remove that plastic wood surround and/or the head unit?

It's been covered before IIRC:confused:so a search may bring it up for you:thumb2If not I would think it'll be a fixed roughly the same as the earlier type

Thanks guys, especially Floyd - that link is exactly what I wanted! Ta very much!! :clap:bow:clap:bow:clap

Just for info it is very different to the earlier type - the switch payout was different on earlier models and the console was in sections - removed a couple of securing screws for the upper section then popped the actual console surround off, disconnected the switches, fiddled it off the air vents and took it away. Here of course you just remove that one small switch panel and its all exposed (sorry vicar!) - much easier!!

Another tenners worth...!

SOME people are more helpfull than other. ME, im hopeless, just ask.. talk to much ( post to much too)
