Radio Hazard Switch

On the Terrano the hazard switch is incorporated into the radio.

I've read the procedure for installing a separate switch and that works, but when I put on the sidelights the hazards that are flashing stop, despite the hazard switch still being on????

Am I missing something?

Any help appreciated.
