I have just finished replacing most of the 3 mm vacuum hoses that are connected to all sorts of unknown diaphragms and electric solenoid type things on my R3mR.

A total of about 7 various hoses that do goodness knows what.

Interestingly the hose that seems to provide the vacuum for these various gadgets was down the back of the engine area below the vacuum reservoir unit and not connected to it directly and that was split at each end so sucking in air on its own agenda.

Drove into town this morning and it was like driving a different vehicle - not any quicker as you would notice but so much smoother in every respect from throttle response to gearshift smoothness.

Usually fixing something that isnt broke leads to all sorts of problems but I really have affected something to cause all this improvement apart from the original mission of sorting out the brake booster low vacuum warning light .

Well as I think I said in your original post, 15 year-old rubber hoses will be well past their sell-by date so a god fix and glad its had such an effect :thumb2:thumb2

t'is great when that happens. I tend to try and continually improve my vehicle, such as checking hoses and so on. i made big improvements to mine recently, simply by tightening the intercooler hoses up (were not tight enough so was pushing out air), makes a surprisingly big difference.
