The brake warning light on my dash has been coming on sometimes when I am stationary,at first I thought it was because I had not fully released the handbrake.

The owners handbook lists three functions for this red lamp.
1.) Handbrake on lamp.
2.) Brake fluid level low.
3.) On diesel models brake booster device problem.

I have eliminated 1 & 2.

I found one of the small brake vacuum pipes to the sensor was perished & split. I have done a temporary repair to this by cutting off the split ends and used a piece of copper brake pipe to make good the loss of pipe length. The light will now only come on briefly if I do six or seven pumps of the brake pedal when stationary instead of it coming on after one application.

It looks as if there are a number of rubber hoses on this system as they disappear down the back of the bulkhead.

Has anyone else had this problem and is it worth replacing all the flexible connections ?

The vacuum pump does not pump suck vast quantities, it is only small, any little leaks from vac tubing will result in significant loss of vacuum particularly at low revs, Rick

got to be worth a shot :thumbs

Yep your right its a 'no brainer' just a shame its Bank Holiday Monday and everywhere is shut !

I will order the pucka pipe for the larger diameter moulded sections between brake booster & bulkhead and to the pump.

The small pipe looks pretty standard diameter and should be no problem sourcing that one from local car spares shop.

id go for same hose as standard.... different could cause a difference in the amount of vacuum

I have replaced most of the hoses with silicon vacuum hose from silicone_hose_world on e-bay using same diameter hoses to ensure good fit and to preserve the vacuum reservoir aspects. One was obtained from elsewhere to keep the i/d and o/d the same.

Just have two difficult shaped hoses to replace and am awaiting price from Japan via local Nissan Dealer before I place the order. If the price is stupid I will see if silicone hose world can do some specials.
