I've spent the last couple of hours reading through the forums, and am i right in saying that the gearbox problems where more the early models of terranos/mavericks :?:

From what I under stand yes it was the earlier ones which suffer more from gearbox probs but the later models do suffer at times aswell :roll:

TBH I don't know :oops: mines makes a nice rattle sound at times with my foot off the clutch pedal but when it's pressed it go's :roll: IIRC I think Toolbox's does the same :?
Do you think you have a prob :?: :?:

I'm hoping so :roll: It's done it since I got the T2 but has'nt really got any worse, so will be putting up with it untill clutch replacement time :smile: oh & thats how the truck got it's name off my wife D she calls it thumper :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Hmmm..my Mav does the same too....nice rattle in nutral with foot off the clutch pedal but as soon as I depress the clutch the noise goes. No problems whatsoever selecting any gear...no stiffness, no notchiness.. nowt.. :?
 
It is adviseable to ensure all your transmission fluids are replaced at the correct intervals or before. (Gearbox, Transfer & Rear Diff)

Those all sound like the input shaft bearings are on their way out.

Thrust/clutch release bearing make a noise when the clutch IS depressed (like mine does).
 
I find that mine makes a noise when clutch depressed which i decide was the thrust bearing, been doing it a long time so I tend to forget about it :smile: ...bri

i have a mistral ive changed the gearbox oil but my local motor factor never heard of lsd oil
what are the best oils to use in the transfer box and front and rear diff

Nothing unusual there then coloured bulbs and air fresheners are the limit for some. :lol:
