Hi All,

Finally got my new tyres today, getting them fitted in the morning :thumbs

Cost me £150 inc VAT for both from my Mrs' place.

Now for the question, when they replace them in the morning one of the front ones they are to replace is actually in pretty good nick and I want to swap it with the spare on the back as that one is pants.

Now for the problem, the spare on the back has a bloody locking wheel nut and I wasnt given the kit when I brought the car, are they going to be able to take it off the back to swap the tyre somehow?

See some pictures of my new sexy ones below :)

They can drill off the wheel nut IF they dont already have a locking key that fits!

They should have a socket that goes over the nut, grips it by undoing as it opposite thread :thumbs

yeah, i wouldnt let them fob you off if they try, they will have this sort of issue everyday, wont be a problem for them!

Ahh nice one, and Fez, from memory looking this afternoon (and a few beers later) Its a 3 spoke 15" steelie.... I think.

thought so, mine is a steel too. The locking nut doesn't work on mine very well as it needs the alloy depth. Bet you could take mine off with mole grips, But I guess all insurance wants to know if it has locking nuts.

If its a 3 spoke it will be an alloy :thumbs

Gav, dont worry about locking wheel nuts, the tyre places have seen em all off at one time and another.

Ive not seen a lock nut win yet :D
