Big boys toys that do not work are no good, now if it was in running order, that would be very different, but I don't think I could afford to run it, but we can dream, Rick:thumb2:thumb2

He's got his hands on some top gear there :thumb2 I hope somone who appreciated the harrier buys it. No engine isnt a barr to preserving it.

A Spitfire BM597 was a Gate Guardian when I was at RAF Church Fenton in the 80s , it was put engine less onto the plinth in the early 60s.

Used to look at it and think it was quite sad really but at the time it was just a piece of metal , hoewever by the early 2000s it was fully airworthy and going for it :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Definitely worth preserving the Harrier in any form as its a twin sticker and I can clearly remember that marque working with BAOR :thumb2

I dont know which historic cupboard hes opened to get his for sale items bu that seller has some interesting bits from some real historic aircraft. Bet is some RAF Warehouse been emptied out by the container load now we dont have much of an air force or navy anymore :(:(

More up to date, get one of these plugged in and in a mounting bracket on the dash and you;ll have the most unique oil pressure guage in a T2 EVER :lol

Quite enjoying looking through his stuff. If anyone is after a shackle, this would be a good buy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RAF-Aircraft-...973?pt=UK_CPV_Aviation_SM&hash=item1e59fd4755

That would have been hundreds of pounds when new and up to date. Its designed to take the force and weight of a chute going up whilst everything else on the end of it wants to head down !!!!!!

They were also stress tested to 2 x the anticipated max working load ie probably several times what you and I could subject them to :D
