Pug 406 dash...long shot

hi,

my day has an '03 rapier 406 estate 110hdi,

the backlight?s? in the centre dash have failed.

this houses the readout for the rds radio, aircon
temp and postion read out of vents etc, i think.

any ideas if this is lit by user replacable bulbs
or is it lcd, not with car so can describe in any
more details. have googled dash lighting but
generally points to behind speedo clock etc with
access via torx screws joy!

have feeling its a garage job, not even sure can
get haynes for it...sounds familiar eh (t2)!

It depends what type of display it is.....but even if its edge-lit as some are, its a fiddly job to replace the lighting source.....if you can comfortably dismantle and reassemble a laptop I'd say have a go.....but you need to talk to a dealer first and establish what kind of screen it is, LCD, LED etc...

I had a Pug 406 many years ago, it was a 1998 and my dash lights went out.
Pulled out the dash and it was bulbs that had blown, dont know if any advances have been made on the later models or if the centre console lights are bulbs.

Cant rightly remember, the problem i had was that i could not see the mileage on the car, if i recall it was more like digital orange led's.
