Hi guys,I hope someone out there can give me some advice. I own a 2.7 1994 Maverick which I use mainly to get me to and from my shooting,as such it only does about 2500 miles a year. Today it developed the following problem,it struggles to get above 45mph and feels very sluggish getting there and will hardly rev above 2000rpm.At times it emits blue/white smoke but not all the time. When moving through the limited rev range I have it also feels like it's missing at times too......Any ideas.

Blocked fuel filter or mini filter, or perhaps fuel lines gone porous and sucking air.

The mini filter s the one to do first - its free as it just needs cleaning - its inside the banj bolt for the fuel supply to the fuel pump.

Then check the fuel lines everywhere for any signs of bad corosion/slight seeping etc

Change fuel filter - a few quid but should be done at service - often missed as cost saving exercise by home mechanics though.

Thanks Hummingbird you were spot on,it's running better than ever now, going to do air and fuel filters later while I'm at it.....great advice well appreciated.
