Wow what a slick system the DVLA have. Took a couple of minutes to change my plates from the written off truck to the project truck. In fact it took longer to phone the insurance companies.

Can't believe I'm saying this but well done DVLA:doh

At least they can get something right

They seem to get more wrong, but they're never wrong, just like HMRC :banghead

DVLA Cherished Transfers?

When I tried to retain the number off the Chrysler 300 CRD that had been registered to me at the same address for over 3 years for a mark that I have owned for around 20 years it would not let me apply for a retention certificate online had to post all the forms and V5. The reason given online was taxation history ? I had it continually taxed and there was no change in taxation class. I took the plate off a few weeks prior to sale.

Having received the Retention Certificate when I bought the Beamer and had the new V5 sent to me so I could get it assigned - guess what it would not let me do that online even though I had put 12 months tax on her at the time of purchase and all the names and addresses matched !

Guess you were a lucky one then !

PS When will they design a form that is written in everyday language that anyone can understand without numerous re-reads and crossings out.

I mean we all use the Queens English in the pub when we order a pint for a Nominee or Grantee ! lol
