well an update.

i decided to have a week of off caravanning and get on with the blue t2.
i took front inner arch linings,rubber ones took out front indercaters on bumper and wings used a hammer gun to undo 4 bumper bolts,lifted out bumper and took off both front wings.noticed 4 bolts are 2 and 2,longer ones for top bumper mounts.
outrigger ions shot on both sides in bumper,took 5 hrs making up the shape and welding in.repaired cracks in bumper got ready to paint in primer.
both wings shot so prepared the good replacement wing ready for primer.
other replacement wing i cleaned back to good metal but decided to cut out fully the rot and set about making a replacement section out of a disused tumble dryer,its thicker gauge steel so then welded it in as one piece keeping the original shape to as close as possible.then repaired to final shape and prepared it for priming.
got the wings and bumper primed,3 coats then a guide coat and left overnight to dry.
it was a day of flatting,stopper where needed and re priming.
it was time to repair front cross member took a bit of time shaping and welding but then shut-zed it in. a couple of small welded patches on inner arch to make good.
back to flatting wings and bumper again washed down and left overnight.
n/s/r/d had a bad panel that took a bit of time to repair as did the plastic arch trim.got them ready to prime,stoppered up flatted and re-primed.
time to start spraying in the t2 colours.
painted wings first,good colour match and painted in to blend r/d.2k clear coat to finish.got a bit of dust but will polish it out.next day i masked up the blue door so i could paint silver trim.sprayed and blended in so as not to disturb the 4x4 emblems on panel.
next day was unmask and refit wings and bumper and indercaters,inner and outer arch panels and mud flaps.
it now is strong and looks good,well when the rest is cleaned it will.
just 2 front tyres to change which i have here and jobs a good un.
i have the same jobs to do on my other green t2 but i have plastic wings for that one.
when i have done that one i will be selling one of them.
