So that long metal power steering pipe that goes under bottom of engine and loops back around along cross member and up to reservoir, Its not really needed surely ?

I'm thinking of shortening and getting rid of all the lower stuff as its a cooling pipe and I'm thinking in britain its probably not needed as power steering doesn't get that hot

What do you think ?

Do you think 2.5mm wall thickness silicon hose would be ok for this ??

Its low pressure isn't it ?

i dont think the PAS system is low pressure, atleast on my terrano, the PAS pipes are quite thick, they dont bend in if you squeeze them

i had a crack in mine so i cut it shorter and used some new rubber fual pipe i had spare and put that on to replace the bit id cut off now works spot on with no more leaks hope this helps :thumbs

Mines been pissing out all over the drive and everywhere else for about 2 months :D

just ordered some thick reinforced 10x17mm rubber hose off ebay

So going to get rid of the lower loop/cooling pipe and just go out of the box straight up to the reservoir

i wonder if mine has a cooling pipe, i'll have to investigate:rolleyes:

This pipe is another of Nissan's anomalies like the so called damper pipe on the clutch, if it is there for cooling it cannot do a lot as it has no fins and is short some I have seen have a much longer than needed rubber section, I just wonder if it is some kind of pressure stabiliser, but having said that it is on the return so very low pressure, cooling????
