Just had to repair the power steering cooler pipe, the lower alloy pipe had corroded through under the mounting bracket. NISSAN PRICE FOR PIPE ASSEMBLY £351 + VAT and wait 10 to 14 days to come from Amsterdam. I cut out the rotten bit and replaced it with a piece of hydraulic hose and a couple of hose clips price about a £1. Where do they get their prices from, it wouldn't cost that much on a Boeing.

I had the same prob a few years back & I did the same thing:D:thumbs:thumbs& have had no prob or leaks from that part since but i've now got the other one to do under the N/S mounting as that has just started to leak:rolleyes:When I get time i'm going to do away with the nissan set up & fit an oil cooler off another vehicle behind the rad:D

Any chance one of you clever bu88ers could post a pic and show where the guilty parts are, so us mere mortals can go and check ours for corrosion please?

It's a bit dark to take a pic at the min, but if you look down the bottom of the rad in the engine bay you will see a silver alloy pipes with a rubber pipe U bend at the N/S:thumb2 there are 2 clamps holding the pipes to the front X member. I have found mine sprung a leak under the clamp & the 1 I have repaired so far was the N/S lower pipe:rolleyes:All I did was to remove both clamps so I could move the pipes further away from the rad & cut it with a hacksaw but make sure you have something to catch all the P/S oil. Once it's in 2 give the pipe ends a file down & then fit some rubber P/S pipe over the join & secure it in place with a couple of hose clips:D The old bracket would'nt fit when I did mine so I just made up a new one with some bits of old hose pipe to as a packer & to stop the rubber pipe from getting cut from the new clamp:DThen refill the P/S bottle with new oil & work the steering from left to right whilst topping it up until the pump stops screaming, give it a good run check level & go & have a nice cuppa as the job is done:thumb2

Well done Sweety, saved me a lot of typing. To get to the pipes you will have to do it from under the truck after removing the skid plate. I made a boob the price was £315+vat still dear.

Thanks for mentioning that bit gadgetsyd forgot to put that bit in:eek::eek::augie even going for a brand new oil cooler (after market) you would save about £250 plus you will get a much better cooling of the oil:thumbs

Mine just went and did the same so went to plumbers and got a 10mm straight compression joint and cut out the bad bit and put that on - only cost a £1 and 10 mins to put on
