Power Increase

I tow a 1400kg caravan and could just do with a little more power.
Can anyone advice me of a way to increase the BHP of a Terrano 2.7 turbo deisel 2000 reg?. Have tried for a remap but unable to do.

PSI is adjustable I belive.

also a K&N air filter will give you 1 or 2 more...

Seconded, and as Zippy says, a K&N induction kit (sub £60) is good for a couple of horses and a 2mpg or so improvement.

The Tunit is around £400new, or £260ish if you get a factory refurb from ebay, where they pop up sometimes...its the Tunit II you want to be googling and looking for....:thumbs

well its a wiring job which can be a bit fiddly depending on where your ECU is, but all done with scotch connectors...and Tunit get 11/10 for customer service as I am sure Pete will confirm.

I tow a 1650 kg caravan with mine with power to spare , might be worth checking your turbo.

Have PSI on my terrano and have noticed improvement allround.Hidden near battery and only needs a twist on a connector near intercooler and fit in line ,takes 30 secs and thats SIMPLES.:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:thumbs

these tuning contraptions sound interesting, am I right in thinking they are nothing but a positive bolt on? I have read they improve fuel, power and running, is this so? I cant see any reason why not to get one for these cars..??

You may not get an mpg improvement cos its all too easy to use the extra power LOL....but the Tunit and similar are alleged to add about 25bhp to the existing 125bhp of the 2.7 TDi, and it certainly feels like it.

The Tunit is best as it is fully adjustable to benefit from other add-ons like big bore exhaust, turbo tweaks etc...although TBH it needs a rolling road setup for optimum benefit....but their dealers will do that for you.

When i was running the PSI box, I was seeing an increase of 2-3mpg in normal driving, simply because i suspect you can be in 5th gear by 40mph and dont need to downchange nearly as much.

well, I am not TOO fussed about power, I have a V6 MX6 for that, but if I get my mav fixed, a Tunit sounds very interesting! I like the idea of everything running smoothly....

hi , I have a PSI power box for sale. Used to have a t2 for towing the caravvan and it made a mega differance both towing and solo, a must have part for all t2 owners as far as Im concerned. £150 if youre interested. PS forgot to say it raises the bhp from 125 to150 makes a big differance take it from me you carnt get the smile off youre face for ages
