Positive connection to battery

Hi, still got damn starting problems. Lead from harness, 1/2 inch thick has been extended to battery pos terminal. Extension cable is half thickness of harness cable. They were joined by 2 ciclips! and covered with a huge length of insulating tape. Cannot believe that is a recognised way of joining two different thickness cables. Any suggestions please

Recognised method woul be to replace the entire cable. If a wire is a certain thickness it is that thickness for a reason.

im with Terranosaurus, replace the entire cable.

always best..if posable, or just add another one the same size.

I agree, you will loose power fom the bad conection and the smaller guage cable, I would change the lot!

Change asap :thumb2 if it comes loose (jubilee clips ...possibly not the most secure leccy connectors around) you may get the effect of the old ford starter motor problem.............all leccy to earth in a flash
