my green t2 has been a bit hard to start for a few months, like lack of fuel but after changing to clear fuel pipes i can see its got fuel to ip.
anyway i have been away for a month and its been getting harder almost killing a new battery.
whilst in a field i thought i would look into it more deeply.
took off inter cooler and undid glow plugs bus bar tested each one and working, changed all a few months ago, checked glow relay and timer and volts and all ok.
turned my attention to fuel return pipes on injectors, found 2 small splits so changed all leek offs.
it seemed that every morning the cold ip had to re bleed itself.
during the day it starts ok,not as fast as my blue t2 on first turn but ok.
thinking that i had found the air letting ip fuel to drain back after running with no cooler on looking for any leeks i put it all back together and left till the morning.
bloody thing still not starting so a small shot of ether and straight away it runs and ticks over as fuel there, but it seems low on battery power.
next day i tried to start but with a meter on glows and when turning over it was low volts,so with it running i was only getting 13v at fast idle not 14v so i am thinking alternator not doing its job.
so now i have a 14v 70a bosch t2 one coming and will change that and charge the battery overnight and see if that does the job,as i am running out of ideas.

So with that in mind, what fuel are you using?
If veg or other replacement fuel, try it on some regular diesel, with a shot of mineral two stoke oil, failing that some red X.

Symptoms sound like fuel is running back to the tank.( air leak).
Try a suitable container of diesel say on the roof and pipe it into or after the main filter, only use whilst parked up lol...:lol

bansheeeeeeeeeeee you know my oil is spotless lol.
i run 2xt2 on same wvo without any real problems blue t2 none at all but green t2 started to play up.
i will change alternator and have fully charged battery and see what happens as i think its not turning over fast enough.
i will drop test battery today.its about 3 months old but if volts are not getting in to it it will slowly start to run down due to low alt output.
today blue t2 has been standing 5 weeks but started on button as usual.all fuel system on both the same.

passed 2 ads not to worry about.
mot chap i use has got himself a patrol,i do not know what model but he was talking to me about it.
seems he has lack of fuel, starts ok then slows down and smokes,grey/white.
i explained about the site and gave him a few pointers about his lines and what to look at but not a patrol owner i was referring to t2.
funny thing is my one seems to start ok now.
new alternator coming soon so will get it on and should give me better battery.

i did say £10 will be well spent, the 2 mot tips i gave him this year will pay it.
1 in jan and 1 today.pass or fail i still tip,do others.

I always tip my tester, it's common courtesy, I use the same place year after year, the guy is very fair with me, some silly silly MOT tester discrepancies that he let's slide are the reason I go there, I always used to seem to get a jobsworth who would just fail it on something I couldn't even contest purely because he didn't want to MOT a modified car :doh Yes I have had testers like that, some utter arses.

If there is something wrong with the car, he wont fail it, he will just put it to one side and say listen this needs to be done, this stuff will be an advisory, what do you want me to do, he knows how I operate so knows I'll come pick it back up and then get it all sorted then I take it back for free within my 14 days and a nice clean pass sheet, rather than having a fail on permanent record for all to see so Johnny Rotten can try and haggle me on the asking price.

It's not what you know boys............. :thumbs
