Was about to fit a newly aquired high level stoplamp ; pondered about route to take to get a supply from LH stoplight ; took off top taildoor trim and found a twin cable with connector. A bit of jiggery pokery with a multi-meter soon established that it is a stoplight circuit sitting there waiting to be used. ----Made my day----doesn't take much nowadays :smile:

Thanks for the heads up on high level brake light and water leak.

I have the same model but 2 years older and LHD. As a matter of interest where did you find the source of the leak, as I have the same problem.

Re the high level brake light, I think they are a good safety addition and would like to add one. Where did you get your light and at what cost?

The brakelight I used was from 'ecobiodiesel' on ebay. 24Led 12volt just under£8 incl P&P. It comes with self adhesive pads and about 1.5 m of cable,of which you won't need much if you are as lucky as yours truly. They do a 36LED job too, but I am a pensioner----sob-sob .
The rainwater leak was a poorly sealed bulkhead joint in the engine bay. It's a curved wheel arch joint and is supposed to be spot welded and sealed with a line of the usual bodywork flexible sealant. In my case there was a 8inchish length of the joint unsealed and water cascaded into the passenger footwell about six inches above the floor level. I found the source by stripping out all the front passenger carpet and underfelt (which was soaked and smelly), :evil: I then got my better half to play a hosepipe onto the windscreen area whilst I sat in the car and observed.
The water ran down the windscreen, followed the ridge along the bottom and ran down the corner near the bonnet hinge then trickled down the engine bay bulkhead until it found the offending unsealed and poorly welded joint. The joint was duly treated with anti rust gunge then sealed with caravan strip seal which happened to be handy.
After carving out and replacing all the waterlogged carpet and sound proofing my wife no longer needs wellies and the waggon smells less like a damp cellar.
Hope this helps. It explains, in my case anyway, why I got as much water incoming when parked as when driving. If you would like more help/info it might be handier to email .

my '96 twin headlight model has the captive wiring too, saved us ages fitting that external 'spoiler' led brake light.

Thanks for the info. Mine's the '96 'Timberland' single headlight model but I'll go search and hope I can find the redundant wiring. Thanks also for the water leak info. We don't have such a severe problem but the hosepipe method of investigating it sounds simple - like most good ideas.
