My mate has just bought a pipe bender which is capable of bending 2" by 3.5mm pipe, he is looking at making roll cages for guys on a Triumph car forum I'm on. If his services could be of any use to any one on here, please let me know and I can pass on his details.

hmmm, I thought you needed a mandrel bender for roll cages :nenau
However if your mate can get the right consistancy of sand and that in the pipe and bend it without kinking it, I want one please :D
Two cages for me please :thumbs

sounds like a scaffold tube bender to me, think it should bend without kinks if it has a former and a guide, but could be wrong as never done it, Rick

I will find out for you and can pass his details to you if your interested :)

Make that 3 cages, I've just found out my daughter fancies one for her Triumph Herald too :D

Triumph Herald, she has class ;)
Dave, the guy who has the pipe bender also has a Herald and that's what he's getting orders for at the moment as well as other larger Triumph saloons .
I have sent you a PM with his details :)

Heralds were known to flip over if taking roundabouts to fast when the rear inside suspension folded o
and tucked the wheel under the car. We had a convertable herald which we drove all over europe including Giberaltar and yugoslavia, this was before motorways so it was quite a rough ride, no trouble until
we ventured into a French forest for le piquenic when a tree stump broke the rear chassis support which gave rear wheel steering on the over run. Quite an interesting drive home. regards bri

Needless to say the Herald is modified a bit :sly Spitfire 1300 engine twin SUs on fancy intake mani, 4 to 2 to 1 full bore stainless tuned exhaust and some tidy alloys. Running some adjustable shocks but cant remember which.Hi bucket seats and harnesses . Big servo and new callipers :thumbs
Front end is all fibre glass and also modded a bit, so as she tends to push it quite a bit the time has come to get it caged. I look forward to his output :clap

Sounds interesting, photo's :augie:augie. Is she in any of the Triumph clubs, I'm in club Triumph and they have plenty of events like Auto solo's, these are a good day out and you can push your car more than your legally allowed to on the Queens highway.
Dave's a really nice guy, did you receive his details on the PM

Queens highway you say :lol nah we live in Wales mate , no need for that here :sly She's not in any club that I'm aware of
I'll speak to Dave and see what transpires :thumbs
