Yep had a good time there today, got a few pics and again no effin vid and it would have been very good especially the last half hour as a a quad was stuck half way up the exit climb to the cafe with another trying to pull him up, all to no avail, we watched for some some minutes then offered a winch, which was accepted, so started the arduas deployment of dymema/sheave block/shackle and strap up the hill to a tree at the top but rope ran out some 4 feet from the block so back down to get another strap and shackle to complete the hook up, all done and winched them up but because of the extra strap could not get them to the top before rope ran out but by this time others were at the top to lend a hand so they took over but from my dash cam would have looked real good, anyway as I have been stuck before at this site due to lack of tree where you need it I have been looking for a ground anchor and found one on ebay Friday and bought it, collection only but as it was in Worthing no problem, as I thought in a senior moment that we were going to Slindon and would be passing, but it really mend a good detour, never mind got it now, this is it

This is the first time we got stuck pushing a good lump of mud joining a main route from a side one at about 80 degrees, problem was there was a deep rut that I had to avoid, so looked at the options could have gone back, (no way) so only option forward but do not wish to roll into that hole

This is the joining route, not clear in the pic but deep hole for my rear wheel to slide into

And from rear tree to rear of motor, the effect is winch and drive forward while maintaining rear pull at 90 to hole to stop it sliding in

Now that looks like fun, pleased you had a great day.

Not that I am expecting anything other than perfect but how did your front bumper hold up?

Excellent photos rick. Sarah looked too clean though:lol:lol

Earlier on I accidentally whacked a tree, the tree came of worse with the removal of bark, no marks on bumper, Rick

Got some battle scars though, but it is true to say it was about to fall off anyway, soon to get a new wing section from Poland though, Rick

Wow that looked muddy!! Let me know how you get on with the anchor Rick, I've got one the same, tried using it twice now but no joy, maybe not muddy enough where I tried though!

Yea I can see it will only be any good in firm soil/clay and need a good whacking in with a sledge hammer, doubt it will be any good at Slindon too much shale and gravel to be able to get it buried deep enough, but sure it will come in handy at Picaddilly Wood, Rick

Snorkle

Spent some time this afternoon fitting this

Going to do a temporary straight through connection ready for Slindon this Sunday, till I get time to remodel the filter box, not easy as space is tight and the way the box holds the filter, means I need to graft a lump on the side and then change it to round in very little space, I may have a hunt round the scrappy's for an alternative, Rick

It is a beast of a motor and the sock is a good idea, lest a stray leaf gets in, Rick
