Hi just wanted to confirm that to change the belts in this vehicle, I undo the tensioner bolts on both belts, take belt off, put new one on then re tighten.

Ive tried finding a thread explaining and the manual is all for Diesels.

MR,

Never done them myself, although my T2 is in today having them replaced and a service done with a local mechanic I know.

I will try and remember to ask him when I pick it up.

Know he said it was a fairly straightforwad job.

Try THIS manual, page 15. Its the manual for the D21 pick up and WD21 Pathfinder but it covers the KA24 petrol engine unlike the R20 manual.[/url]

I'm only getting 4 pages of the manual for some reason

Well I had a go and gave up due to part one not going to plan. I just could not work out how to slaken the PAS belt. I undid the adjustment bolt and no difference. Didnt want to bang it one as I wasnt sure if I was working on the right part.

Any idea on how to get off the PAS belt as I though you just undid the adjuster bolt and it would come loose. No matter how much I undid the bolt nothing happened.

Really need to get it off this weekend as the Alt Belt looks like its gonna snap real soon.

pas and alt belts.

when i changed mine i found that the long adjuser bolt came loose but the adjuster did not slacken off.it take it you have un done the one on the right hand side(standing at front of motor)sprayed it with wd40 but it was still stuck solid.had get the hammer out in the end and free it off that way.be careful not to bend the long adjuster bolt as i did.not expensive to replace but still a pain in the rear.

Cool, I was guessing it need to little hammer action, but wanted to check before I started smacking it one. Will use my rubber mallet as I hope it will do the job and not cause any damage.

I used Plusgas rather than WD40, same stuff i think.
