hello all
i know its been covered a fair bit on here already, but i was thinking of fitting them to my t2 as my previous car had them and they make parking and reversing so easy,i'm thinking of using the 4 bumper mounted sensors, but i had a look and i'm thinking the bumper looks a bit high for them to be any good, what experiences do the members who have fitted them have.
thanks
stef

They are the dogs bollox and you should be able to get a set of 4 for £25 or less on ebay.

I fitted some to my terrano love em, missus was that impressed the first thing she insisted be fitted to her car this weekend when she got it was a set...........problem was its an 09 brand spanker ..........big deep breath before drilling

This was the last set http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190284291786

Daved,

Any pics to show where you fitted them???

Before you say anything Zippy656 I know they will be at the back!!!! :augie :lol

Also I see you've gotta caravan - did you wire them up to cut of when the caravans on... and if so how!!!

We have2 of them + a camera, have had no probs with the height of the sensors work just fine., got to say though the camera is 100% better when in use, you can see the camera & sencors in the pic.

ya gotta love them tail lights :thumbs

BTW, I reckon the later upper lights fit as well - the basic light shape is the same except for the extra flange but that sits on the surface so all should go in nicely......I'll size 'em up against the redheads truck on Saturday...

what screen have you got inside then Paul?

i use a camera on my camper, and use a "ripspeed dvd733b head unit) and all works well, head unit came from halfords over the christmas period and they was doing a deal for christmas day only should have been £149.99 special offer £84.99 one day only.:thumbs

Hi, cant post a pic at the mo but I'll get one sorted this afternoon. My installation is a four sensor, 2 the same as above. I found youre limited for positioning on the terrano because of the metal structure inside the bumper but they seem to work well where they ended up :thumb2

I just ignore them the few times I'm reversing with the caravan :D (prefer the front tow bar)I wondered about a cut off but as its all nicely contained inside the back panel I couldn't be bothered running a switch to the front anyway :)

Ta, lacroupade Paul said he was going to try them against someones truck last week :D didn't you Paul..:augie

Daved, could you tell me where you have put your sensors please? I guess 2 are the same as Paul's Maverick, with the other two at the outer edge maybe? I've been trying to bid for some on ebay without much luck so will prob do a buy it now.

The fitting all seems pretty straight forward but can anyone tell me, how do you wire them up to the orange reverse light wire? Do you scrape away a bit of the wire's plastic sheath and then cover with insulation tape or is there a more scientific method? Thanks.

Hi,

Theyre simplicity themselves. One connection via scotchlock (no stripping of wires) to the reverse light live feed. One conntion to earth then plug in the sensors as per the instructions and youre running.

I did take some pics as prev promised but never posted them, cant finds them at the mo ...........sorry :(

I can take and post a pic tomorrow if thats useful

I cant remember the seller i got them from but this is the kit I used on both my Terrano & the missus 09 Seat with no problems at all
