I am pretty sure I have seen this question posted already but I can't find it again - so apologies to all.
There is an orange wire connected to the battery +ve post - then to an online fuse and then off through the bulkhead on the offside. Appears to be factory fitted as is installed inside crinkly tube etc.
Can't find anything that looks relevant on any of the wiring diagrams I have found - anybody know what it feeds?
Thanks
Peter

The only thing I can think of - has it got an alarm on or had central locking fitted. There is usually a wire coming off the battery to the fuse box but I think that would be in the wiring loom

There has been an alarm though no longer fitted and there is central locking. Wire looks much more like factory fitted than something added later
I thought the central locking was factory fitted - is it possible that this was installed later?
Peter

I would have thought it was something added after market. Try taking the fuse out and see what happens?

PS has it got a twin socket tow bar?

Single socket towbar only. I couldn't find anything that didn't work when I pulled the fuse - but this was static with the engine not running. I don't want to pull the fuse with the engine running in case I destroy the ECU or something equally expensive!

I think jimt has a point, it can be a limited number of things and taking the fuse out would be one way of finding out! i am sure your electric windows would be standard and central locking gome to that? but the alarm or caravan socket option seems likely try looking under the back to see it there has been a socket that is now disconnected.

Mine has this aswell & i'm sure it's got something to do with the tow bar socket

orange wire

Could have had the cig lighter wired direct to the battery,I did this to mine to connect a solar charger, see if the cig lighter works with the keys out?

Old way of wiring a single socket was to have a perminant live to what was the spare pin but is now used for the fog lamp.

My Mav of a similar age has central locking - or at least it should have only works on rear door and drivers, passengers door has packed up but can't be bothered fixing as I don't find it a problem.
