Got into my car after work last night and noticed this :doh

Some of those rocks did look sharp so I'm not overly surprised, I must have driven home like that though and just didn't notice as she's holding air fine :augie

Whats the verdict do you think? Can the gash be fixed? (Like I said, there's no air leaks).

Even if I could just get her tidied up to keep as a spare, seems a waste of a tyre otherwise :nenau

...of course it could have been caused by a kerbstone but surely the ATs can stand up to kerb damage :nenau

Having just had a check on google I think it's goosed :doh I've got a couple barely used road tyres that were on the Troll when I bought her so I'll take the AT off the steel spare wheel, pop it on the alloy and get one of the road tyres put on the steel rim instead.

You really have to watch the sides of the lanes on your sidewall. At least it was not brandnew.

nope, side wall damage can not be repaired!

It can be actually but is frowned upon for cars
Bin it mate, or stick a rope in it for a swing , tear it in half and make belts from it , or grow strawberrys in it :lol

I did that to three tyres on the same morning once, i don't buy expensive tyres anymore - it makes your frightened to drive anywhere

I'm told it's called a "Major" repair but can be done. It's also done regularly on truck tyres. It would then make a good spare but I doubt the various costs involved would make it worthwhile unless you happen to live close to a major fixer upperer
