Can anyone comfirm if the obd on a 2000 terrano2 uses the standard obd or eobd bus. I really want this code reader come live running stats app on my android but it needs to be obd compliant. My Terrano has the 16 pin connector but not sure that guarantee's obd compliance.

Normally not OBD compliant, but I've heard that some may be.
Check the socket and see if pin 7 (K-line) is fitted in which case it may be OBD.
Chances are the only pins fitted in the socket are:
1) Check
4) Ground
5) Chassis ground
8) IGN on
9) CLK
12) SCI TX -Consult
13) SCI RX -Consult
16) 12V power
If these are the ONLY pins fitted, then it is certainly not OBD compliant.
Don't be surprised if Pin 9 is also not fitted as it's generally not needed.

Think your correct

I tried my mates OBD connector on a pc based platform and it was a no go. Shame I really liked the Android app one I saw. Thanks anyway.

You can still do onboard diagnostics though. You'll need "Nissan Consult" gizmo to plug in the OBD socket then run "ecu talk" on your tablet and join them together with a serial to usb cable adaptor thingy. :D
Worked for me but only after a struggle with the serial adaptor, some of them have the wrong chipset in them and I'm now confused again....................erm it can be done :thumb2
