thx in advance

When you turn the ignition on does the oil pressure light come on and then goes off when started?

It does fella first thing i checked after finding it with no conection

Snap... found my sender missing a connection, found that I have no warning light working for the oil, found the missing wire off the wing amongst some other pipes and wires plugged it back on and still no joy. The sender works ok so suspect the dash bulb is dead.mine is also a 96 td by the way

You have mail

Hope its what you need

The wire is directly opposite the oil pressure sender on the passenger wing at the same height,It is under the air filter box. It's about 12'' long and has a grey outer sheath with a green core with a white/gey stripe with a black plug.Hope this helps I will try to take a picture if your still having problems finding it.

Cheers m8 a pic would be great toolbox has sent me a wiring dia but a pic would also be great, thinking of fitting an oil pressure gauge as im thinking someone has got rid of the wire for a reason.
Been a mechanic all my life and i still hate wiring specially when someones been messing about with it

hi rsaddo.
had a look at mine tonight. wire enters harness at a point directly below air filter housing .on mine you can see the outer wrap on the harness is wound around the wire as it comes out .so look for a cross over in the outer sleive.
ITS ALL DIRECTLY UNDER THE PIPE WORK THAT GOES TO THE EGR VALVE .SO FIND EGR VALVE FIND BLACK PLASTIC TUBE FOLLOW IT TO UNDER AIR CLEANER .
THAT SHOULD PUT YOU IN THE RIGHT PACE :?

Did wonder if thats what had happened, when i realised it wasnt there as thats what i was gona do when changing the filter last weekend. The odd thing is i checked to c if i had a oil light on ignition which it has and it also goes out when the engine has been started it gets stranger

The plot thickens as the sender on the oil filter is not the one that lights the oil pressure light on the dash; it's over the other side if the engine by the starter motor rear, on the block see my post (oil pressure warning lamp on a 96 maverick 2.7td),this still begs the question as to what the oil pressure switch on the oil filter housing is used for? took some photos of mine with the attached cable, if your still interested send me a p.m[/img]
