Same as the aussie outback ones :thumbs

yea right, I would want to stick chains through my alloys and do that, Rick

did any one look at the tyre inflation in the arctic, after the winch one closed, interesting, spray the deflated off the bead tyre with lighter fluid then set it alight the resultant explosive combustion instantly seated the tyre, and the one after it claiming to be first at filming and exploding over inflated tyre, I saw film of this with a 10.00 X 20 truck tyre in the 70s all done in a steel clad sealed room, they were shocked when the metal ring left a serious dent in the roof 10 ft up, soon after that it was advised that when inflating truck tyres with split rims (like a big circlip) to only do so in a steel cage, Rick

you tried it? Rick

No I've seen it on youtube though :D I've been lucky enough to have kept my tyres in place :thumbs

you can also use a piece of wood to grip, Well seen a video of one tied to a tractor wheel.

wheel winch

i saw a clip on youtube, where an early series landrover had what looked like metal cable reels bolted to the hubs, then thick rope was anchored to something solid, while the vehicle wound itself out of trouble. it also showed a caterpillar tracked version and one with pontoons strapped to it driving accross a lake early army mods i think.

WD40 works just as well :D

Just seenthe video...
I have WD40 in the Mav, just in case it won't start one day, so looks like I need to keep a gas lighter in the car as well.

I have seen butane gas used on YouTube.

I guess if you are stuck somewhere.:thumbs

saw the lighter gas trick about 20 years ago on the mega tyred icelandic trucks
as they were running less than 8psi over the glaciers and with out bead locks
tending to fall off...

it was featured in a 4x4 mag of the day international off roader, sister mag
i think to land rover owner maybe.

there was also a video about iceland, the beeb did a series of docs about
diffferent countries, india, etc.
