Number Plate Lamp Removal

Can someone remind how the number plate lamps come out of the bumper, ages since Ive done one and mine look a little brittle.

They are just clipped in but like you say they become very brittle.
A bit of hot water on them before removing might take some of the brittleness out so the tabs don't snap.
