On a similar note I was helping her indoors tidy up in our loft eaves. (Ours is a Chalet styled house with a small loft and the bedrooms upstairs have sloping ceilings with built in acess to the eaves for storage).
She thought she could hear some scuttering noises when in bed and we found a couple of mouse droppings and some nibbled items - shoes and a new Louis Vutton Pink handbag.
After much grief from she who must be obeyed I set two mouse traps in the first eave baited with Galaxy Chocolate. First night caught two mice as yet no more but manged to catch eight more in the Garage. Old fashioned mouse traps made of wood with plastic hinges etc. not humane but very effective.
Did have a battery opereated mouse trap that electocuted the little buggers but when I went on holiday forgot to switch it off when I returned a maggot infested skeleton remained but the putrified remains rotted the circuit board and as it cost £25.00 decided to stick with cheap & cheerful.
Guess the hard winter sent them indoors.
