not indication lights on key turn

I think I know the answer, but just wanted to be sure before I buy a new battery. I have had the battery out of the car for a month or two. Reading between 12.3 and 12.5 sitting. When I turn the key, nothing. Guessing the battery is goosed, but is there anything else it could be?

PS indication light, meant to put dash lights...

Is there anyone else with the same model as yours who can post a photo of the battery terminal to make sure you have everything connected. Also check the thick wire going into the positive terminal as the wire fractures. Other than that can you try some jump leads across from another vehicle with it's engine running.

With battery in car, monitor battery voltage, turn side lights on only, are they on, what is voltage now?
Do same with headlights, what is voltage now?

If lights work, and battery voltage is over say 12.2, with headlights on, then try starting, monitor voltage and report back.

Could be oxidised battery terminals wire brush terminal and post.
Certainly positive terminal has been known to fracture.

Is there any checks I can do with a multi-meter? I don't think the car is getting power, even with low charge on the battery, would would have through the dash lights would at least come one. Battery was removed a month or two ago, and has only been reconnected today - so can't see how something would have blown??? confused.com

With 12.3 & 12.5 volts not likely to be the battery itself is my view.

Keep your meter connected to the battery and position it so you can see it from the driving seat, so you have say 12.5 volts, what happens if you turn the headlights on (do the lights light and what is the volts now) just the start of testing, Rick

dead as a doe-doe. The battery is definitely giving out volts, but doesn't seems to be getting to anything. Cleaned the terminals and still the same... When you say fracture, is it visable or do you have to pull back the isolator plastic.?

just to be clear - no power is getting to anything. Read somewhere else about the negative corroding. Trace from the negative terminal, and there are two wire, a thick one and a thin one. Both connect to the engine block. When I connect to the thick one, and positive, get 12v, with the thin one, 6 or 7v I think. Don't know if that makes a difference... not too hot with electrics...

appreciate your help with this one guys, need the motor for tomorrow... keep firing out the suggestions... remember that its completely dead, no lights on dash, headlights, nothing... These leads don't seem to connect to anything.. I was assuming that they don't. Someone suggested secondary cables for battery

I take that back. Both negative cables connected to block show 12v when check with a multi-reader... Completely confused at what would cause this. No power at all - so a low voltage battery isn't the issue, something else - relay? earth cable? Is there something I can put the meter across to see if power is getting past the battery... what's the next step in the circuit?

should say I also check the battery in the fob.. 3v....
