As for a northern outing.

Good to see a bit of interest in the north, I was looking at an outing on christmas eve ran by 'uklandroverevents.com' but I am Off over christmas from the 18th december. Usually between crimbo and new year is a good time to fill in.... but open to suggestions. and there is a wealth of good pubs in the area!!!

The Patrolman ( couldn't thi nk of a better tag when I joined )

Hi Again,
Just Rang 'UK landroverevents' and it seems to be pretty much a closed shop!! They only let Landrovers on there trips cos the know the will get round the course.seems a bit snobby but there you go. Aslo they charge £49 a truck for which you get a guided tour and a bag of sweets and pulled off when you get stuck in another land rover.
They stop at a remote moorland pub for lunch... How very off road..I worked there for 3 years as a chef and drove there every day in my wide wheeled 1962 morris minor through snow and rain.

So it looks like I will have to rally the troops together for this one as I've promised the wife a day of green laning as per the 'TOR' magazine road book...which I think would be the route that the LRC would take anyway... the route they did in a 'trol without any problems.

I would have liked to do a reccy of the route before I recomended it but then what sort of an adventure would that be.

Sofar I have interest from Adz and Jcb1 thanks!! A few more would be great. I know that there's not a lot of time left and I am free with dates so let me know!

I'll post a few pics of the route at the weekend or you could get the mag it's only about £3.40 and good article on tyres.

Steve

i'm sure there will be others interested but might be worth trying/joining
say difflock as plenty of northern all-marque users there, i use their site
too intermitantly and met some members on a derbyshire run organised
by our elty0001 also a member there.
sorry cant commit at moment as working in retail theyve got me pretty
much every day except xmas day.

what was the damage for the tyres btw and how much taller do you
reckon they come out at than the stock 265/70s?

This is one of 3 fords within 4 miles of each other, this one was running at 2foot usually it's about6 inches and the kids go paddling.
We came down the hill and the river was flowing that fast the water was up to the windows and just topping the bonnet briefly as we crossed. A bit of an arse twitcher with no snorkel.... Its a lot lower now!!!
The route takes in another ford crossing I havenot seen but looks good.:thumbs

Tyres £260 Fitting £20 being able to go green laning Priceless!!!!!!!!

Just from looking at them they are about a 32" but the truck feels taller when driving. When i bought them I stood them next to a 31 10.5 16 and they were a good inch taller than that! They may not be KL71's but they don't they look the dogs! I think I could have gone for 275/75/16's possibly next time.

Now that sounds a bit sexist to me! I find you quite offensive! My wife and I share the driving equally I would have you know!!!.

I drive to the Pub and she drives home! How fair is that??
