Its a Siemens unit that slots onto the ignition barrel, interested to know more about what was entailed in the "immobiliser delete", could void your insurance policy too should you claim and they investigate the vehicle

try a bit of easy start in air intake they seem to have this fault if battery goes dead i have had the same problem on few terranos in the past and done this and once started never played up again hope it helps

Have you got a number or website you could link me to in case I ever need this service please? May come in handy one day but I must admit, this is a new one for me, I've been lucky enough not to have this on a Terrano yet.

I have had this problem after flat battery, never did find a way round it other that it needed time to sort its self several hours, there is a thread on here re my related problems a few months ago, Rick

I have a friend with a Maverick and he had the same problem after a flat battery. He used two spanner’s and bridged between the positive terminal of the battery to the glow plug feed connecter at the top driver side of the engine which is only a matter of inches. Now to be honest I think this is extremely dangerous as this could all too easily cause a direct short to earth of the vehicle. It worked for my friend and indeed has worked for others he has advised but I wouldn’t advise using spanner’s but maybe a jump lead or something that has insulation.

His fault turned out to be connections to the glow plug relay that were extremely corroded but why it showed up after a flat battery I have no idea. The relay is just inside the inner wing at the side of the battery so battery has to come out.

Being a 99 the truck is probably the older Nissan Consult fault reader connection which was unique to Nissan, very few garages or even dealers still have this equipment due to age. I do know there are some readers or connectors available to connect via computer but I don’t think they give full functionality. Personally I’d be a little careful believing what a garage has told you.

As said above others have had same issue and found minor fixes for this.
