noisy engine

i have just fitted a k/n air filter and a week later a noise like stones rattling in a tin can started coming from the front of engine. i looked at alternator belt it was bouncing about a bit so as they were all pretty worn i replaced all the front belts,ie power steering, alternator, ac compressor. still got the noise. it seems to go as engine gets warmer, any ideas anyone. andeone

Can you give us some idea of the car please and engine, if you go into your account details you can add these as your signature to save you remembering to type details in.

If you have a T2 check the fan blades are not cracked.

Would it sound like a bearing by any chance?
When it does it again left up the bonnet and see if you can hear where the noise is coming from.
I wondering if the alternator bearing might be on the way out or you have a mounting loose.
