noise/clutch ??? 2.4 petrol

theres a noise when she first fires up then it disappears ,now when reversing I hear a scrapeing sound when in reverse,when driving forward all is good :nenau

when you first start after say an overnight stop then it will be the timing chain or maybe big ends rattling till the oil gets there, the 2.4 has a design fault in that the filter part drains and so the oil take a few seconds to get round, after 100k or so this will have taken its toll in the form of big end wear, and the timing chain tensioner is another known problem, both are cheap to sort if you can do it yourself, do not know about the reverse problem, Rick
