Right, so after must hassling (of you guys) :augie

I have taken the plunge and bought a winch.

It's a TU35 Tirfor winch. Comes complete with 13.6mm cable 10m long

He is also chucking in some free cable grease and something else, think he said shackles? Whatever it was it was rated at 36ton

The winch is meant to be good for lifting up 3 tonne or pulling 5 so hopefully this will do the job. If not tough I'm stuck :lol

Oh and free delivery too. I'm happy.

As per usual thanks to gang on here for the advise and i still remember Zippy's logic "it wont pull the skin off custard" :jesterbg

Now you just need a couple more rated shackles, tow strop/s, snatch block, small hand saw, shovel & some waffle boards & your sorted:thumbs

I feel sick, the monies adding up :doh

to be fair, if it is for the odd time getting stuck and it gets you out after a lot of huff and puff and swearing etc then it is worth it, but not for me, probably winching 6 or 7 times at a meet, and even the winch complains by getting hot, Rick

Yeah I've seen your pictures, I'm not doing anything nearly that extreme.

But like you said, i go laning alone, it's nice to know I can get myself out of a hole :thumb2

A winch is only as good as the nearest sturdy anchor.
Take a Shovel, as you may need to bury your spare tire.(no joke)
never put grease on a winch cable, It traps dirt and debris and works it' way into the cable and wreck it from the inside out.

When you use it take it home and soak the cable in a bucket of water then shake it and move it around it will work any dirt out from between the strands.

Cheers! Had no idea actually :thumb2

Use gloves when handling the wire too, small strands can snap and as you handle it stab you.

You only need to buy it once:thumb2 I made the biggest mistake when I went back to hot hatches & sold most of my shackles & tow strops, even sold my spotlights:doh

hi alex, do not cut your front bumper up as these later ones get a good second hand price. buy an earlier bumper and chop that about, cheers, mike.
