Well mrs started car today and moved about 10 yards and it cut out, had a go at starting it and it turns over but wont start, got a lift pump coming as of previous fault so im hoping its no fuel getting through. Getting to the point of wishing i hadnt bought this thing and stuck with my old 99 2.7, never missed a beat in 4 years of ownership.:doh

Check fuel primer on fuel filter. Should be hard (the black doodah) :thumb2

That my friend is what i think the problem is as the 1 fitted is from a mitsubishi so im waiting for 1 from a breaker, hopefully should be here early next week.

Cheers

Thats the problem the primer on the lift pump has never worked so like a man over 60 never gets hard.

OK fair play ...how about 70. But the fact of the mater is it don't sort my truck.lol

Bit of an update, got a different filter housing and fuel filter and the truck fired up no problem, put a new front pipe on the exhaust all sealed no leaks but ive still got a shortage of power when you get into 3rd and above, and now when i accelerate and it revs over 2500 rpm ive got a whistle (not a tune i know :doh). Its kind of doing my head in now, so please answers on a post card, Cheers.

The dreaded turbo whistle...
I assume it comes in when the Turbo spools up.

I had this when I had a new front down pipe, Kwik Fit fitted it and agreed to change the down pipe for another manufacturer, problem solved.
So it could be the new pipe, or a poor seal between gaskets.

My thoughts were poor seal, i fitted it this morning with new gaskets took it for a run heard the whistle so removed and refitted with gaskets and paste and its still the same. Im dreading that the underpower is turbo related.
