hi guys had the free wheeling hubs off and cleaned and regreased them, had the discs off and cleaned them, had to free off the caliper sliders on te drivers side regrease and refit and also done the passenger side although i didnt havet to free them off just regrease.

both calipers seem to be working ok as they both pushed back in no problem.

replaced as many of the vaccum hoses with new silicone hoses

from the boost solonoids on the nearside inner wing

went out for a drive and the brake pedal is still very hard and feels like i have to push the pedal very hard in order for the truck to stop and the brakes are very poor.

as weve had some rain i thought id test the abs to make sure its all working correctly but i skidded :(
i had none of the usual judder on the pedal when abs is supposed to kick in it feels like the truck without abs ? ?

i also had no lights come up on the dash and i know the abs light i:(s working because when i start the truck the light comes on then goes out after about 2-3 seconds then never comes back on no matter how hard i hit the brakes.

the brake problem is really bugging me now as its the last real problem i have with truck and i just cant seem to cure it !!:(

Sounds more like vacuum/servo issues:augie Check those pipes again for soundness and good fitting.
Are you sure you've properly bled the system including the compensator

There is an item in the ABS system that could inhibit the ABS from working, it is the "G Sensor" this is normally under the passenger seat near the rear heater duct.
This sensor needs to see some appreciable deceleration before allowing the ABS to function normally, this prevents niggle operation of the ABS on snow & ice etc..
This unit contains mercury switches and if not orientated correctly will not operate properly.
Worth checking that something shoved under the seat in the past has not moved it from the correct position or dislodged the connector.
