Nissan terrano se td engine ecu

I have a 2002 Nissan Terrano SE TD 2.7

For sometime now I have been trying to locate the engine ECU.

I have been told that it is behind the centre console, under the passenger/driver seat, in the front drivers/passenger footwell.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHERE IT IS? ALSO MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?


AGAIN I HAVE BEEN TOLD DIFFERENT STORIES ABOUT WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR!

HELP!

On an 02 it will definately be buried behind the heater controls.

It will look just like this:

When you remove all the central console and radio look up toward the bottom of the windscreen berried at the back is the ECU.

When you remove all the central console and radio look up toward the bottom of the windscreen berried at the back is the ECU.

no need its lower down than that - on an 02 its in fact immediately above the ashtray but needs the entire front console removing to access it. Silver box about the size of an 8-track cartridge with three or four fat wiring looms going into it.....easy to spot, you'll know it when you see it.
