Just installed avm manual locking front hubs.

So went out to test them to see if 4 wheel drive was working. Turned the front hubs to the locked position. Drove forward with 4 wheel drive to make sure they were fully locked in position. Started spinning on wet grass, noticed that only one of the front wheels was spinning (passenger side)

Has the front got a lsd?

Any help would be appreciated

no, it will have a R180 open differential in the front. you will need a R200 front carrier from a nissan skyline or subaru legacy with tripod inner CV's to match and then source a mechanical front LSD or locker to go into said carrier/housing.
then you will need to source matching ratio's for your H223B rear axle

you will also need diff drop bushes to lower the R200 (8 inch) housing to clear the sump.

or you can spend mega bucks and buy a ARB R180 air locker which will make the smaller R&P last about 5 minutes.

Woah, in english

Does that mean only the rear diff is LSD as a standard fitment :thumb2

Speaking of the rear diff, ensure you change the rear diff oil and use genuine LSD oil not just any old gear oil. Wrong or old oil can cause all kinds of problems with the transmission.

Others will be along to give you correct ways of checking your 4wd system too.

Bud, I really wish I lived in NZ with all those technical mods available to you.

thx for the replys guys ty. quick question where can i get a cheap drivers side door card as mines is wrecked. i live in the uk ty all.

Send a PM to cncfabs, solarman or banshee. Theyll either have what you want or know where there is one between them:thumb2

Never mind with all that fiddling about just for LSD up front, just buy a LOKKA and fit that to your std diff :D About 200 UK quid :thumbs
Very very reliable

I have heard of these Lokka kits before but cant seam to find anywhere in the uk that sell's them.

Anyone know of a company in the UK that deals in them.

Thanks very much for all the replys.

No UK suppliers. I did get a bunch in last year but not doing it again due to Customs hassles.
You can order them direct though, just go online and bish bosh ;)

Is the manual hub fitted correctly on the drivers side ? easy way to check will be to lock the hubs, jack it up & turn the front prop by had & both front wheels should turn if only the N/S turns then something is up with the O/S manual hub

Guys here don't like fitting lockers to the factory front diff as it is small and easy to strip the pinion and ring gear /snap the loaded side CV's or smash the spider gears when one side comes off the ground and the opposing wheel goes full load. you have to remember that most of the weight of said vehicles is on the front axle

ARB australia make a locker for the front of the WD21/R20 but as said we use LSD's as they dont shock the drive line

If you managed to get one front wheel spinning then the hubs are working as they should :thumb2

If you had a hub not locking up then you wouldn't get any front wheels spinning as the diff would send all the drive to the side with least resistance which would be the side with the unlocked hub.

it will spin on wet grass very easily.
low box 2nd gear and keep off the loud pedal.
Also what tyres are you running on:nenau
