OK folks new to the forum so be gentle with me...!!!
Just bought a 02 plate Nissan Terrano 3.0 SVE. Very happy with it after 10 mins driving for me. Long story.
So my question apart from a bit of kudos and bragging rights are there any real benifits in chipping the engine?
We will use the vehicle back and forth SW France 4/6 times a year as well as plenty of town driving in the UK.
Also will do some green lane stuff hopefully..
Wife already noting at 30 MPH she has to stay in 3rd gear. Will chipping help this? Improve economy?
Any advice on this matter greatly appreciated to this chipping novice.

Thanks

Bapp

my 3l navara is mental it dont need chippin 80mph 3000 revs on m way either towing caravan or empty 65 is 2500 revs fuel econemy off abot 30mpg easily

Hello and welcome Bapp.

I think Davemud has a chip on his Terrano 3.0, if you contact him he may be able to give you some advice on performance with one fitted.

would say see how get on without, afterall can always use a bit more go pedal!

imagine temptation once chipped is to gun it more with drop in mpg. there are several members modded so sure they'll be along soon.

as for 3rd / 30, well thats how it is being more truck than car orientated. in 3rd you'll have more engine braking and quicker acceleration, and also stop it running away, maintaining your licence. its proven doesnt use more fuel either. (institute of advanced motorists)

Hi, Try this company
www.vanaaken.com
I have their chip on my 2.7 T2, transforms the car, driven sensibly it improves the economy, makes it more flexible to drive. Unfortunately they don't do the 2.7 any more only the 3.0 also if you are a Caravan Club or Camping Club member they give a 10% discount.

I'm not surprised your 3L does'nt like doing 30mph in 4th if my 2.7TDI is any thing to go by. I find in 4th gear the revs drop down to about 1250rpm & pick up is so slow & laboured, so most of the time I just leave it in 3rd for better pick up

i can do 30mph in top and itll pull if push pedal ive no intercooler costing me boost though!

YES,
I had mine fit at a BMW garage, went in for air con re gasing. The owner said he add just fitted a power box on is brother in laws nissan T2. He said what a difference it made, more power in the rev range. No flat spots its not sold as a fuel saving device. £350 fitted. mine had to be solderd in place some do just plug in under seat.

fitted 4 years now no problem with it
