Nissan Pathfinder advice please.

Hi all thinking of changing my T2 for a nissan pathfinder just wondered if anyone can think of any probs they're well smart with loads of toys

Hi hedghopper,

Ilooked long and hard at the pathfinder before taking the plunge in november for an 07 reg, we ran a maverick 2.7td for 6 1/2 years and loved it, as you say the pathfinder has the looks and toys,

we looked at the local nissan dealers in scotland who where looking at £23000 for an 05 reg with approx 22000 miles on the clock but as one of the dealers was next door to motorpoint we thought right just out window shopping we will see what they have to our surprise we picked up an 07 reg with 10500 miles on clock for £17000 so we now run a black auto pathfinder with all the privacy glass multi disc changer and all usual toys for a lot less but still with nissan warranties and back up.

i opted for the auto box as some stories coming back of the manuals having clutch failures within the first 20,000 miles,

The service plan is 18000 miles and costs approx £350.00. The only thing i had to go back to nissan dealer was with drivers door remote locking micro switch got noisey and was replaced within a day on warranty apart from that nothing.
performance is astounding for a big diesel she is very quick off mark and around town is a breeze some people say the ride is hard but i dont think so. i pull a large twin axle caravan with three boys full of bikes toys etc. and wouldnt even know it was there.
Seating is comfy with plenty of leg room in rear and plenty of storage space for bits n bobs,
As for the fuel well i dont see a difference between the pathfinder to the maverick.

I could go on n on but all you need to know is since november i havent stopped smiling and will take car any where just to drive it. :smile: :smile: :smile:

thanks for info.we are buying an 06 sve manual have heard conflicting reports about gearboxes glad to know it tows well .we also tow a twinaxle and cant wait to pick the car up.sounds like you got abit of a bargain .wondered if you thout about biodiesel? thanks again

I hope you enjoy it as much as we have, no i havent tried bio diesel in it but a couple of guys i know have in other vehicles also there are a few members on here who have check through the forums and you will come across it, too much hassle for me i like to stop nossle in pull trigger and just pay get back to road.

As for you towing if its not fitted with a tow bar yet then look about as mine came fitted with bar and twin electrics, the bar is a detachable swan neck which is ideal when not towing, and the electrics are on a swivel mount which swings up behind bumper and keeps them clean and water free when not in use, added bonus no one knows you tow and no bruised shins or knees you can get clear gel bumper protectors just in case,can be picked up in most reputable caravan shops for £6.
