OK, just wanted to let you all know about a recent issue I had with my truck
The Starter motor packed up, was very suprised as it was only replaced about a year ago, so, I checked my invoices and there it was, replaced under the dealer warranty exactly one year and one week ago
Thought I'd chat to the dealer and see if they would replace it again as the part must be warranted and guess what they said, yep, you got it, only a 12 month warranty on parts!!!
Well, I thought, I aint having that, so I rang Nissan Customer Services who said I must get the truck into one of their dealers to make sure it was the starter motor, this I did, back to my dealer as it needed a service too, 2 birds and all that
Went to collect the truck, £147 for the service and £353 for the starter
When I got home I wrote to Nissan Customer Services with a copy of the invoice and explained that, in my opinion, the starter they sold me last year was not "fit for purpose" and I expect to receive a ful refund for the starter and the fitting charge
Got the cheque this week, full costs reimbursed, so I say

Thank You and Well Done Nissan Customer Services
Thanks again

Good result but what if you couldn't aford to have it replaced this time around by Nissan?
Surely its better if they'll replace it acknowledging fault and not billing oyu in the first place?

Well done mate and good on you

Main dealers think they've got us by the dogs dangley bits and they don't care

I read somewhere that some are starting to guarantee work for only 3 months.

At least someone at Nissan head office had the good sense to pay you back. I also hope they gave the dealer an earfull, because I would have

The sale of goods act is a great piece of protection, forget the 12 months crap, more like 24 months at least to be fit for purpose.
