Hi,

I am really a newbie as never really noticed the Terrano before giving it a miss from my search of affordable 4x4's.
I am currently looking around at various motoring websites getting a flavour for the vehicle. Will be buying after Summer Hols end of August. Not long to go:bow

Welcome, you have joined the right place for these trucks, plenty of info on what to look for and there are normally some for sale here too

Welcome mate ,you will get lots of tips on what to look out for in a second hand Terrano on here! Good look in your search!:thumbs

Welcome buddy :thumb2

Your in safe hands now, you may even find an experienced member close to you who may travel with you to view it so you don't get a lemon :thumb2

I did exactly what you did, joined up, paid my tenner and then brought one based on the advice I was given, that was summer 2012, it's now summer 2014 I've had some ups and downs with mine but man oh man has it been a fun ride

You won't regret the purchase mate believe me!!!! You planning on running it on veg? Also if you want my advice the sooner you buy the better, the closer you get to the end of summer the higher the price you'll pay as you're getting closer to winter

newbie

Thks all for the warm welcome. Taking on board advice re getting it early will have to talk with the Boss.
Don't know the up's/down's of veg oil never used or heard of it before. Where would I go to get it as the shopping order bloke may start to give me some funny looks never mind the wife.:question

Hi & welcome:thumbs The Terrano often gets over looked sadly but they are fantastic motors, make great family motors, great at towing caravans/trailers & even in standard form good off road:thumb2 The 2.7's are gear driven so you never have to worry about changing timing belts or chain & as said will run on veg oil plus the engines are all most bomb proof:D MPG is far better than shoguns or 300tdi disco's etc:augie

Howdy dude and welcome to the forum.

I run on neat veggie, I get mine for 14.99 from quality foods :lol

The terrano will run perfectly on it, speed is minimised a tad and cold starting is a bit juddery when running neat for about 1/2 mins :thumb
The terranos are well capable and there are loads of mods for them :naughty

The one think to look out for when buying one is rust, really, have a damn good look!! Everything is a cheap fix minus rust :lol

That's the one bit of advise I took with me when I went looking for mine in January, I'm so happy ive got it now, and the mods list is forever growing :augie

Hi,

I am really a newbie as never really noticed the Terrano before giving it a miss from my search of affordable 4x4's.

I spent ages looking at Frontera's - then I drove a SWB A-series. Woefully underpowered. Then I looked at the Terrano II.

Then I bought a Maverick (same car). They rust, but aside from that they are great.

Welcome :D

I loved my little fronty, but yes, she was massively underpowered :(

She's probably in pieces in a greenlane in Wales right about now :doh

They must be very little bits as we didn't see any today :thumbs

:lol a crazy Welshman rang up n bought her over the phone, came down with cash n drove her off. I said come and have a look as she has scratches ect, he said dont worry I blew my last one up

I almost didn't wanna sell my little fronty :(

Keep an eye out for this in wales :lol
