newbie with a Terrano, key or button to unlock ?

My daughter has just taken delivery (at work) of a W reg. Terrano, she used the Key to unlock it to drive home from work, the Flashers flashed for a few seconds and then everything was back to normal. Should the Flashers Flash when unlocked with the key ?

I assume the Buttons are supposed to be used to Unlock it and Lock it up Everytime, the key only being used in an emergency, she obviously isn't used to having a remote control LOL.

it only flashes like that as she locked it with the remote and unlocked it with the key so setting of the alarm i think if she locks it with the key then she can unlock it with key with out the alarm going off might be wrong:augie

Normal for the indicators to flash when you lock or unlock.

Fair comment all of you, the trouble is i am trying to pass on the symptoms second hand, it will be far better if my daughter could post here herself, there probably isn't anything wrong with the dammed thing anyway LOL

Yes should have underlined what Geoffdown said.

If you lock or unlock with the remote the lights will flash - thats normal.

If you lock with remote then unlock with the key, the alarm should go off. It will cease though once you put the key in the ignition and turn it on.
