newbie, can anyone help me please

we have just brought a terrano II 1999, need to know what the rocker switch is for that says S at top and A/T is for, looked through the manual and can't find anything, can someone help please, its driving me mad.

hi thanks for the reply, looked in the manual and that section is just about driving safely in 4 wheel drive, (DRIVING 4 WHEEL DRIVE SAFELY)we are beginning to think that this might not be the right manual as there is nothing mentioned in there much about being an auto, its all mainly on manual ones, is there another manual?
