Hello to all, Just to introduce myself, I am a Brit who is going to be in Iceland for the next year and I have just bought a Terrano II 2004 2.7 TDI with 93,000 km on the clock. So far just had to do minor stuff to make me happy. I must admit I like driving it now - I wanted a 3.0 but couldn't find a good one. All my local Icelandic friends are already saying I should lift it and put 35"s on it :).

Welcome aboard and for what it's worth I prefer the 2.7, like the gear driven timing. As for the locals, don't trust em they blow there tyres up with gas and a match:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol
Check out the downloads section within quick links as there is a workshop about lifting in there if I remember right.

Good man go with the locals 35"s are the way forward :sly
Keep us posted if you go that route as there's no blinking room where yo want it :lol
I love all the Iceland Patrols so let's see your T2

welcome to the club, those icelandics do love to make their truck bigger, if you do go down the 35" road you are going to need a bigger hammer :lol

LOL - I have no plan to go that route yet but if I did I would probably enlist the local expertise - these guys have apparently done 38's !!

I have tried to get hold of them but they have moved after the financial crash - spoke on the phone but haven't answered e-mail today. Mine is standard apart from being on 245 x 70 x 16's (Goodyear Silent Armour). I'm not going adventurous but I want it to do the business on snow packed / wet gravel / dark / narrow icelandic back tracks.

A message to other newbies - this club is superb and don't do like I did and post without searching first. The search engine works fine and the info on here is mind boggling. SEARCH FIRST !!

Thanks for the welcome all
