well took some measurements

everything left of the black marker needs chopping off for a better fit width ways on the roof this will makea nice fit with it then having a slight overhang on the roof bars

the rust bars will be cut off there is one at each end of the rack

and these hooks will be relocated the bar u can see to the right of the hooks will sit inside the roof bars as a way to help keep it in place

still not sure what to do about the length yet, if i make it the same length as the truck i'll have to chop off everything above the black marker, but i may leave it the length it is and have an overhang at the back.

you should put LED marker lights on it like i did, looks awesome at night:thumbs

irs going to be erm...operated on so its a better fit :lol

If your "operation involves welding, then do be careful as galvanized makes for poor welds and creates noxious fumes.

A very nice find!:thumb2

Having seen it in the daylihgt
Sell it and do one made for for the job so you can integrate it with your roof rails already there. It'll just be a massive tree trimmer otherweise , even with cutting and shutting.
Van roof racks usually get good money :naughty

i would cut the width down from the middle and weld the bars back together leaving the sides intact i cut a disco full length rack down and fitted it to my roof rails by attaching cross members slung under the rails instead of on top so the rack sits nice and low to the roof
as said grind the galv off to get a good weld and dont sniff the fumes as its arsenic

well managed to get some more done to the roof rack project today :D

chopped the top off so now its right length for the truck

then made its waist thinner so its the right width

then put it on truck to see the size and what it looked like, looking good even if i do say so myself

its deffo gettin there, got some more chopping to do tomoz and then its onto welding it all together :D

Its an exhaust chimney like the ones on the merc SLR to release the heat created by the ferrocious power that the terrano makes :lol:lol:lol
