Wecome Mud Monkey, you've found the best 4x4 club there is! We're a helpful lot, mostly with a few screws loose, but helpful nonetheless. You're also about to buy one of the best 4x4's on the market, solid, capable and very, very reliable (mostly!) Sounds like you're not too far away from me (I'm in Bristol, although my Terrano, a '94 SWB 2.7TD is permanently based in Spain where we, me n 'er that is, spend about half the year). No doubt some more knowledgeable than me will be along shortly to tell you what to look for when considering looking at a Terrano, as they can rust, particularly if they have been used for hauling boats out of the sea at some point. The 2.7 diesel engine is pretty bomb-proof, an earlier (non-turbo, non-intercooler) version, was used in London black cabs, some knocking up mileages of in excess of 300K, and most of us here in the club have models with well over 100k on the clock (mine has done around 125K). Once again, welcome, I am sure you will find club membership at only £10 a year is money well-spent, I have saved that many times over by acting on advice from other members.

Welcome aboard mud monkey:thumb2. This really is a very helpfull forum and u won't be disapointed with ur nissan (if u buy it). My patrol is family owned from new and apart from a bit of rust which will be sorted i wouldn't change it for anything

thank you for all the replies, if i get the terrano tomorow i shall do the £10 membership thing, and by the sounds of it the terranos are a good 4x4, i had a discovery 300tdi before so that about all i can compair with.

cheers

check inner sills, at the front and back

also check if 4wd is working ok..

normal car things, heater electric toys ect...

will do thanks for advise mate. :thumb2

you reckon it look ok for price???

to me from the pics yes.

if the garage dont know a lot Id have a bash at getting it down a bit..

front looks low .. ( search here for tortion bars simple to do im told, still got mine to do ) my be able to talk a few £ off..

take your time.. get thE seat warm on the test drive.. AND THE ENGINE

some times the heater only works on full blast.. simple fix in down load section ( after £10 )

OH YES, you dont have to have that one.. if it dont " feel" right.. just cause you have gone all that way.

THIS IS WHAT IM GOING TO LOOK AT LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!

Looks pretty good from the pics, and the price is ok too, particularly as it's taxed & MOT'd. As Zippy said, check for rust in the sills, also have a poke around the rear seat belt mounts (you can see them in the rear wheel arches), rust can be a regular optional extra in this area, and that's an MOT failure. If you can crawl underneath there shouldn't be any more than surface rust, another member recently bought a very tidy 01 reg SWB Patrol, only to find the chassis rusted right through in several places - he's now in the process of fitting his original body to a replacement chassis!
