Guys im thinking of buying a small car for the wife when she passes her test this will be for me to use aswell to try and save a bit of money using the Mistral all the time, she is 26 so insurance shouldnt be to steep (i hope)

So heres the requirements.

1.HAS to be an automatic as she has given up trying to drive a manual :nenau

2.Needs to be a four door so we can get the bairn in.

3.Preferably under a 1.6cc

4.Decent size boot for the shopping.

5.Has to be safe.

6.Would like a japenese car although not an import if possible due to insurance.

Think thats it,if any of you have or have had a car that fits the criteria itd be good to get some feedback as to how you liked it.

Cheers,

Stuart.

Honda Jazz CVT every time, available with 1.2 & 1.4 engine, really Tardis-like inside (i.e. shed loads of room). I'm 5' 11" and have the seat almost all the way back and there's still nearly 12" legroom in the back. Boot is bigger than my old Lexus IS200 (my mate says it's bigger than his Golf). Regularly got top spot for reliability with Top Gear magazine.

for a minute thought title was swap request.

making a change from a camel....

I htough that but stopped when i realised i am always steering thread off course. Now i don't feel so guilty.

ON topic - the honda Jazz does seem a nice little car. They seem to hold their value as well !

arent early vitaras under 1600, slush box too, 2 and 4 door versions.
bonus 4wd too then.

friend of mine just got one as her first car at 20yr old so insurance
not much higher than usual shopping trolleys.

adz and Lyn have a 1.6 auto vitara for sale! I think :thumb2

an automatic golf is obtainable for less than a grand on an s-v reg
most are very low mileage if you look think you can get a 1.4 auto golf.

last forever and its a golf:thumbs

Some food for thought there will have a look at the jazz would have bought the "monster truck" but its a manual :doh haha.I did suggest a golf but she said its a bit big  haha women !!!.I showed her the nissan cube but she said it looked like postman pats van i thought it was quite funky lol.Might go and see the nissan juke she likes that but i dont think she would get insured as the only model with the auto is a 1.6 turbo 190 ps awd and its 18k  !My sister has a 56 plate swb grand vitara she likes that but dont think they have an auto option cause that would be a contender nice wee motor to drive.
